Atlanta Jazz Festival Announces Lineup for 2023

Another great lineup for this year’s Jazz Festival happening May 27-29, in Piedmont Park. Come join me and 50,000 of my closest friends and we enjoy 3 days of awesome jazz music, there will be an stellar lineup on tap! Ready, well here will go!

There still will be local event throughout May leading up the Memorial Day weekend, such as the Neighborhood Jazz Series, MARTA Monday, Jazz in the Airport Atrium, and more in the local calendar is here.

The festival, now in its 46th year, will feature an exciting mix of established and emerging artists, spanning the genres of jazz, funk, R&B, Latin jazz, and more. With a focus on celebrating the rich history and culture of jazz while also looking towards its future, the Atlanta Jazz Festival promises to be a must-see event for music lovers of all kinds.

The festival kicks off on Saturday, May 27th with Lakecia Benjamin, the acclaimed saxophonist known for her genre-bending blend of jazz, funk, and R&B. She will be followed by vocalist Tony Hightower, Latin jazz saxophonist David Sanchez, and rising star vocalist Samara Joy. The night will culminate with a performance by the legendary Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, led by trumpeter Wynton Marsalis.

Sunday’s lineup features afro-French bassist and vocalist Sélène Saint-Aimé, contemporary jazz, soul, and funk harpist Brandee Younger, saxophonist Javon Jackson and the Gospel according to Nikki Giovanni, hip-hop infused jazz vocalist José James, and jazz fusion bassist Stanley Clarke.

On Monday, May 29th, the festival will come to a close with performances by singer/songwriter Satya, pop influenced jazz pianist James Francies, singer/songwriter Brenda Nicole Moorer, trumpeter and jazz innovator Chief Xian aTunde Adjuah (formerly Christian Scott), and R&B and jazz vocalist Ledisi.

Admission to the Atlanta Jazz Festival is free, with food and drink vendors on site. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the performances. The festival will take place rain or shine.
